2020 will showcase a special moment for our club when we celebrate our 40th Family Day on July 26th. We will be recognizing this milestone with some special giveaways and recognitions. Also included will be swag, showcasing a 40th badge, specially produced just for this occasion. I don’t want to give anything else away but rest assured, for those attending you will not be disappointed!
It is no secret that the Ilderton address that has hosted our Family Day event for all these years will be replaced with a new location for 2021 and your Executive are working hard at exploring all options. I’m excited about the suggestions so far and much has to be considered for an event of this size. We are also exploring locations closer to Toronto and the GTA but have to reach a balance that fits all our needs and I have full confidence in the Executive when making our final decision.
As you know, we are always trying to bring new and exciting events to our membership and once again, our annual Track Day has been confirmed for this year and will be held in August. For all events information including everything else, I invite you to visit https://canadianvolvoclub.org/
We are always seeking volunteers as we are simply a non-profit organization that relies on the help from many. This is my formal shout-out to anyone wanting to help, either at a specific event, as part of the Executive, or lending a hand of any kind. Just contact any member of the Executive and all contact information can be found on our website. Your support is needed!
Our Executive continues to grow with a much younger demographic now part of the decision-making. We continue to embrace social media in furthering the interests of the CVC and I’m very excited about the future of the club moving forward. On a personal note, my tenure as President will be coming to an end later this year and with that, a hope new leadership will breathe new life into the club which is so necessary in seeing a club thrive.
Your Executive will be meeting next month for its first meeting of 2020. Given the work that has already been done and continues to be done, we are in good hands. With little else to share, I wish everyone a fun, safe season of driving and look forward to seeing you all on Sunday July 26th.
Drive Safe.
