I hope everyone has been well! Preparations for our Family Day event are underway - I hope to see as many of you as possible there on July 24! Planning and running an event like Family Day is not the work of one or a few people, but rather a sizable team of volunteers. I would like to open with a request for volunteers looking to help with a few jobs at this year’s event. If you (or someone you know) is interested in volunteering to help with this year’s event, we have the following roles available! We are looking for help with setup on Saturday, July 23, starting at 9:00 am (there is over-night camping space available Friday and/or Saturday night for those who are interested), running the front gate, and running the club flea market. Interested parties can reach out to myself or Bev Hughes for more information.

The rising temperatures & longer days make for the perfect time to get out for a trip in your Volvo. My thoughts frequently turn to where I will be able to travel to this Summer. Canada is equally vast both in terms of space & beauty. It is my hope that CVC members can explore as much of our great country as possible this year! If you have a place on your bucket list, this Summer is a prime opportunity to go visit with family or friends.

To that end, if you have a photo of your Volvo during a road trip, we’d love to see it. Do you have a story about that car or that trip? We’d love to hear that, too. We are looking for photo submissions to our social media coordinator Neville Britto ( to be shared across CVC social media accounts. And if you’re looking for a place to go, why not join us for Family Day in Ilderton on July 24?
Until next time, drive safely!
